Gautamiputra Satakarni Rating 4/5 stars
The movie opens with Gautamiputra Satakarni preparing for his battle against Kalinga empire and the setup of the film is done brilliantly. The whole philosophy of the movie showing many cultural differences between then and now reflect the depth in the writing of the film. The first of the film explores the violent side of Gautamiputra Satakarni and his relationship with Vashishta Devi(Shriya Saran). The chemistry between both the leads worked out well and Shriya Saran amazes with her matured performance. Hema Malini as Gautami Balashri, is the one who rises Gautamiputra Satakarni as the violent ruler he is. The relation between Gautami Balashri and Vashishta Devi is what the whole philosophy of the movie is about. A mother who wants him to be a violent ruler and a wife, who needs him to be a patient father to their children. This journey made Gautamiputra Satakarni establish peace in Southern India for ages to come even after his rule. We give Gautamiputra Satakarni rating 4 stars for Philosophy, Story, Shriya Saran and hard work of the whole team.
Overall, Gautamiputra Satakarni impresses with a lot of philosophical drama and has negatives in VFX and battle sequences. Some costumes of NBK looked too silly at times. The movie has been shot beautifully and though the second half drags a bit, the final conclusions of the movie will leave us with a good philosophy. Unlike Kanche, we understand the philosophy here.
Gautamiputra Satakarni Hit or Flop?
The movie is trendsetting hit, but will be a above average hit among critics and audience. Most of the film’s success depends on how audience will receive Khaidi No. 150.
